Freedom Ride: A Visit to Louisiana’s Correctional Youth Facilities
Time & Location
About the Event
Families and Friends of Louisiana's Incarcerated Children (FFLIC) is arranging the drop-off of essential personal protective equipment at youth correctional facilities across Louisiana in an effort to uplift and safeguard our youth who are locked away in prison amidst an ongoing pandemic. These facilities continue to suffer from overcrowding and a lack of adequate resources needed to reach Louisiana’s incarcerated children.
An activist once said, “A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members.” If we’re able to take anything away from this pandemic, it’s that our children remain our most vulnerable population. There’s work to be done, and we’re asking the community to join us virtually to protect all of Louisiana’s children right now. We will be posting pictures, livestream clips, and updates from our journey to various youth facilities.
Here are ways you can support FFLIC:
1) Follow our updates on Facebook and Twitter (https://twitter.com/fflicla) and spread the word. The story of the conditions youth are facing needs to be told! Use the hashtags #FFLIC19, #FreeOurYouth and #NoMorePrisons
3)Can you contribute? $5? $20? $100?
